DIY Spring Teacup, Saucer, & Tea Towel with the Cricut Joy
Holly J.
Hey Belle Hey-
Welcome March! With warmer weather around the corner I often find that I switch my coffee for hot tea. I have also made it a goal since the start of the year to DIY with the supplies already in my home.
This month’s DIY is the perfect thing to get spring ready and if you keep a scrap drawer like me you can easily create something extra special. Here is what you will need:
A Cricut Joy or another Cricut Machine
Permeant Vinyl in your color choice
Iron-On HTV Vinyl (I selected a glitter vinyl)
Cricut Easy Press or heat press to adhere the HTV Vinyl
Weeding Tools & Scissors
Tea Towel ( I grabbed a few at Target on clearance)
Once you have your supplies, you will want to head into Design Space to create your design. You can search tea or tea party and use a design from there or you can create your own design like I did. I decided to create a teacup for a sorority gathering on Friday and used an initial monogram I had used on a shirt for my tea towel design to get multiple uses.
After cutting and weeding my designs, I adhered an ivy leaf to the teacup saucer and placed AKA on both sides of the teacup.
After designing my cup and saucer, I turned my attention to adhering my HTV glitter vinyl to the tea towel using my easy press mini.
And just like that I have the perfect spring tea set to welcome in spring!
